Managing the RIF program at four local schools, AAUW members provide free books for TK-6 students, enticing them along the road to literacy.
Seventh-grade girls are selected to attend AAUW's Tech camp at a major regional university in the summer. We fully fund each attendee, who spends a week learning and living the college life.
Branch mentors offer leadership, support and information about college. Mentees have participated in dozens of projects focused on college admission, cultural pursuits and fun new experiences.
To commemorate Women's History Month, high school students write about the achievements of a woman who is important to them. Winning essayists receive monetary awards at our Branch meeting.
High School students are invited to prepare a six-minute speech on a topic selected by AAUW California. Stockon Branch selects a winning speaker to submit their video for the statewide competition.
AAUW Stockton gives scholarships every year to Delta College students who are continuing on to a four-year university.
Our members find a safe place to ask questions in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Interest Group. Led by Barbara St Urbain, the group visited the San Joaquin Pride Center this spring. Discussions continued throughout the summer with AAUW members, Delta Kappa Gamma members, and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members.
